The Fultz family spent 20 years farming in Howard County, Maryland before purchasing the farm in 2011. As Western Howard County continued to grow and change, the family wanted something different: more space, a slower pace, and a life in the mountains away from the rat race.

In 2021, the Fultz family and their daughter Ashley Brunk’s family moved to the farm full time. Today, grandparents, parents, and children all live on the property, building Fultz Brunk Farms together.

Black Angus cattle have been part of the family’s farm life for over 20 years, first in Howard County and now here in Artemas. Cattle will always be part of Fultz Brunk Farms, but the farm has continued to grow.

Today, the farm includes Black Angus cattle, poultry, seasonal flowers, pollinator gardens, maple trees, homemade vanilla extract, a self-serve farm cart, and rabbits. The family is also beginning to breed New Zealand Red rabbits, along with Flemish Giant and New Zealand Red mixes.

Fultz Brunk Farms is run administratively and operationally by Ashley Brunk, with plenty of unpaid help from Frank Fultz and Tyler Brunk — whether they agreed to that title or not.

The family cares deeply about clean soil, clean food, pollinator protection, and simple ingredients. They do not use pesticides of any kind on the farm.

Their maple syrup is made from trees right here on the property with no additives. Their vanilla extract is homemade with simple ingredients. Their flowers are grown without pesticides, with pollinators and beneficial insects in mind.

The farm cart is one way Fultz Brunk Farms shares cleaner, simpler goods with the local community.

Fultz Brunk Farms is not a big commercial farm. It is the family’s home, work, and long-term way of life.

The farm cart is the only public access area of the farm. All other visits, pickups, photography rentals, and farm access must be scheduled in advance.
